Mescalito Film and Giorgio Beltrame – Project implementation

Mescalito Film is an independent film production and distribution company founded in 2011, dedicated to creating and promoting high-quality films of cultural interest. The idea came up from his founder Giorgio Beltrame, former Italian Lawyer, after a Master Degree in Film Art Management that provided him with advanced training in developing, financing, and creating audio-visual products. Combining technical and artistic knowledge with specific managerial skills, he gathers together a team of talented and experienced people able to assist Mescalito Film in creating any type of audio-visual products with artistic and technical high-level standards. Drawing on its decade-long experience in promoting and enriching film culture, Mescalito Film currently produces and distributes the best of biographical and documentary cinema in Italian theaters. Through a carefully curated selection of titles, it brings both small and grand life stories to the screen—stories that not only captivate and entertain but also provide a fresh perspective on culture and current events.
Mescalito Film is the implementing/executing entity of the project “Vedere l’Invisibile”. It is the beneficiary of funding from the European Union – Next Generation EU (through a public notice for the allocation of grants to micro and small enterprises, third-sector entities, and profit and non-profit organizations operating in cultural and creative sectors to promote innovation and digital transition, within the framework of the PNRR) and holds the related legal and economic responsibility, along with the authority over administrative and financial management.

Federico Striuli, Ph.D. – Technical-scientific coordination

Federico Striuli is a film historian, specialized in pre-cinema and early cinema. Based on research conducted over three years in France, the United Kingdom, and the United States, in 2015, he obtained his interuniversity PhD at the “Cà Foscari” and “IUAV” universities of Venice. He participated in training activities organized by the Foundation Cineteca di Bologna, the Immagine Ritrovata film lab and the Fédération Internationale des Archives du Film (FIAF). He curated programs and wrote catalog notes for some of the most important archival film festivals—particularly the Giornate del Cinema Muto di Pordenone-Pordenone Silent Film Festival (i.e. the “Venezia 90” program, to celebrate the ninetieth anniversary of the first edition of the Venice International Film Festival) and the Cinema Ritrovato film festival in Bologna. He has delivered lectures abroad, including Poland, the United Kingdom, and the Russian Federation.
As the technical-scientific coordinator of the project “Vedere l’invisibile”, he oversees every stage of the restoration process, from locating the copies to the philological reconstruction of the works. Thanks to his in-depth knowledge of restoration techniques and collaboration with international archives, he ensures that every intervention maintains the historical and visual authenticity of the materials. He coordinates the restoration efforts, ensuring a rigorous workflow tailored to the specific characteristics of each film.
